Every now and again you will come across a situation (or engage in a situationship as I like to call it) when doing a delivery. There are plenty of methods to cancel an order and recently the update allows us Postmates couriers to contact the customer before the order and during the drop-off. Sometimes a courier may go into a mild state of panic because they have no idea what to do. I guess Postmates kept this information difficult to find because we as Postmates couriers are on a 1099 contract (Independent contractors).

As you can see from the screen and even your own dashboard there really isn’t a direct phone number to contact Postmates (in fact more and more companies are adopting this strange yet unhelpful practice. Fiverr comes to mind).
But cutting straight through the bullshit if you have any emergency and it strictly involves the customer order, simply clicks “damaged order” option on your phone. I’ve done this numerous times and they didn’t seem to mind. I had a delivery from Starbucks and I couldn’t get in touch with the customer so I went to my option and selected “damaged order” and waited 1-2 minutes before a Postmates customer service representative answered the phone. I went straight into my problem of not being able to contact the customer and I was instructed to wait 10 minutes then mark the order “No one available”. I got the full basic payout and a disgusting large cup of Starbucks coffee.
So there you have it. For the record, I actually spoke to the Postmates manager in my market for a direct number and he stated that there is no direct number. So yes, this is the fastest and easiest way for a Postmates contact, an actual human being on the phone. As always I hope this help!
